What is a horse lease and how does it work?
There are many advantages of leasing a horse. Depending on your particular situation, you can decide whether leasing is a suitable option for you. The most common reason a person would lease a horse instead of buy one is that leasing allows you to experience the joys and responsibilities of horse ownership without actually having to buy a horse, and without having to deal with certain liabilities.
FULL LEASE
A wonderful opportunity for a rider to experience ownership and have responsibility for a horse without the expense of purchasing. Experience the enjoyment of a one on one personal relationship with a horse as his/her only rider and primary care giver.
Lessee assumes responsibility for a horse as if lessee owned it. This includes unlimited riding, with regard to horses' fitness, ability, care and well-being. Lessee must be fully capable of catching, grooming, tacking, riding, cooling out and returning horse to stable/pasture without supervision. Cost: $340.00/month
HALF LEASE
Enjoy the benefits of extra riding and practice in addition to regular lessons. A great way to improve your riding and horsemanship skills, and reach your riding goals without ownership or full lease responsibilities.
Lessee enjoys the benefit of extra riding practice up to three times per week and will be allowed to go off premise and enjoy trail rides with your leased horse. Leased horse will still be used for riding lessons. Lessee must be fully capable of catching, grooming, tacking, riding, cooling out and returning horse to stable/pasture without supervision. Cost: $175.00/month
